Broken ceiling light pull switch? Here's a step by step how-to video to take down the broken switch and replace it with a new pull chain. Please note that I am not a professional, just a homeowner trying to save a few bucks. You can buy a new pull string light switch at the hardware store for about $5. The repair takes about 10 minutes. You'll need pliers, a screwdriver, and some "wire nut" connectors. Good luck.

Feb 3, 2012 - Good stuff man! I appreciate the video. The pull string in my closet pulled out completely. I'll have to do some detective work to figure out if I can tie the string back on or if the switch is broken and needs to be replaced completely. Haha I hear a little one in the background at 4:52!
