Oct 18, 2011 - It looks like that's an outdoor outlet, Shouldn't you have replaced it with a GFCI outlet?

tooldudetony Says:

Oct 18, 2011 - - Good catch, but this outlet is on a GFI circuit breaker, so using a GFI outlet is redundant and not required.

Nov 14, 2011 - Thanks for not being dead inside and having a sense of humor! It makes learning this stuff less painful.

tooldudetony Says:

Jan 9, 2012 - - You get it... I'm just trying to let people know that you don't have to pay others to do some of the simpler stuff around the house. Most things are not all that tough. Hopefully, this will give people the jump start they need. Thanks for watching.

tooldudetony Says:

Mar 16, 2012 - ---I appreciate your feedback, Tom. However, I disagree with your assessment of the risk. This isn't rocket science. It's simple electricity. Take care

tooldudetony Says:

Mar 16, 2012 - --- You can't even spell dick head correctly. Consider your post posted.

Mar 17, 2012 - Great video Tony. How much more difficult would it be to change out a non-grounded outlet with a grounded one?

tooldudetony Says:

Mar 18, 2012 - --- That is definitely a good idea. It is harder. You need to run (probably snake it through the wall) a ground wire all the way back to a bonafide ground like in your breaker panel.

TheSolarmechanic Says:

Apr 4, 2012 - GFCI Tony What you did here Violates National Electrical Code.

tooldudetony Says:

Apr 4, 2012 - The GFCI is at the breaker in this home. This installation does not require GFCI outlets. Can you point us to a publication that supports your statement? I'm not joking.. can you please provide this? Thanks

tooldudetony Says:

Apr 4, 2012 - Check out Electrical Marketplace DOT c o m for information that describes the use of GFCI circuit breakers.

TheSolarmechanic Says:

Apr 9, 2012 - Hey Tony did you get my last messages .

tooldudetony Says:

Apr 9, 2012 - I guess I'm not sure. I only got the one about the GFCI outlet. This one's on a GFCI breaker.

TheSolarmechanic Says:

Apr 9, 2012 - Ok I spoke with an inspector today. GfCi Plugs in Bathrooms . All outlets in kitchen . Unless the outlet is used for Microwave, Frig , Garbage disposal. All plugs inside garage unless its for Hvac and garage door opener or an out side frig. All receptacles outside are to be GFCI. You can use a breaker or the receptacle . I would check your National Electrical Code book or Uniform Building code book should cover all aspects of what you need to do. If you have any questions call an inspector

ObsessionMotorcycles Says:
