Composite deck replacement Remodeling a deck 303-255-5554 Denver decking contractor http://www.patioandhomeimprovementdesign.com We are in morrison Colorado remodeling a deck. We have removed all of the old redwood decking, handrail, and facia. We are using a roofing tape to cover the old joists. This will protect them from further weathering. With screw holes on the top of the joists, water will sit in the holes and eventually rot the wood. The weather tape will protect the joists for a long time. We will also seal the joists to water proof and protect from rotting. Next step is to finish adding the new rim board and installing the hangers.
