Lately, there's been a collection of "RIP" based trends on Twitter, usually involving a celebrity name (i.e., "RIP Drake", or "RIP Snookie", or, "RIP Justin Bieber & Beliebers"). Despite the universally-accepted meaning of the acronym (that being, "Rest In Peace", implying someone has died), these celebrities aren't dead -- rather, the acronym is being used in this case to mean, "Really Inspiring Person", or "Really Inspiring People". The fact that these things keep trending really shows that people care enough about celebrities they've never met to tweet what they think is a death topic, and eventually, when someone famous DOES die, no one's gonna believe it.Don't forget to subscribe!Official YT Facebook -- http://www.facebook.com/DanielverseTumblr -- http://dh1390.tumblr.comSkype -- JerseyDHMain Channel -- http://www.youtube.com/DH1390Twitter -- http://www.twitter.com/JerseyDevilDHFormSpring -- http://www.formspring.me/DH1390DailyBooth -- http://dailybooth.com/DH1390

Feb 5, 2012 - RIP Always stood for really inspiring people.
DHSpeaks Says:
Feb 5, 2012 - That's probably the most disturbing thing. Snookie couldn't possibly inspire anyone except hardcore pickle enthusiasts.

Feb 7, 2012 - Things change .. LOL meant "lots of love", today it's "laughing out loud(ly)".But vven if "RIP" is used in a different manner on twitter, the real-world meaning hasn't changed, it still means "requiescat in pace", translated to "may he/she rest in peace".
DHSpeaks Says:
Feb 7, 2012 - I realize that has no effect on the real-life meaning of the acronym, but I just find it odd that these people would try to use RIP in a different, positive light, knowing what people would more than likely think upon seeing something like, "RIP Drake" or "RIP Justin Bieber and Beliebers".
sooperfukker Says:
Feb 7, 2012 - The answer to that implicit question (why...?) is very easy - it's because they're idiots.I'm not shitting you, it IS that easy - people are idiots. When you're 21y old, your experience of the different people who walk this earth is somewhat limited and you'd often find yourself wondering what the real explanation for a certain behavioral scheme of a particular group of people might be - growing older, you'll realise that they all come down to 1 state - being stupid.
sooperfukker Says:
Feb 7, 2012 - [2]You can spend your time on considering that acronyms are favorable on short messaging services and you might wonder if these people didn't consider that the "RIP" acronym immediately catches attention, insinuating something different - or that they did - and all that... you're wasting your time. The reality of it is simple - people who participate in that kind of behaviour all suffer from one, that is 1, ultimate motivation for doing so : stupidity.

Feb 8, 2012 - Shit, I definitely identify as a hardcore pickle enthusiast. Pickles are fucking awesome. To clarify though, and I say this as a visual artist, I find pickles far more inspiring than Snookie ever is. Bitch be retarded.
ChelseaGrinNYC Says:
Feb 8, 2012 - It's funny, a bunch of the suggested videos for this one are "RIP...", so apparently this trend has spread to youtube, as it so often does. Gotta love the sheeple. Well, not really, don't really gotta love 'em, just tolerate and marvel at their stupidity and ridiculous need for validation from the intwerwebz. Let me explain, I think the "RIP..." tag, and its obvious correlation with a person passing, is completely intentional- it grabs attention- which the sheeple NEED... or so it seems....
ChelseaGrinNYC Says:
Feb 8, 2012 - "VIP...", or Very Important Person, would have been way more clever.
